It means making wise food choices; for instance, not always getting the big ol' greasy hamburger, but substituting for it some grilled chicken instead. It means, over time, coming to prefer, and even crave, a salad in place of what are lethal french fries. It means all those things that add up to a happier and much healthier life with fewer problems (particularly lifestyle-wrecking, wallet-deflating health problems) to arise in our future.
